You can be assured of a safe and clean environment at the Diquini Guest House. Ernest Massillon is the General Manager and will be attentive to your needs. He also has a chauffeur that will take you around the city safely and they also offer a ride from the airport, if requested $40. (tips gladly accepted). There is free parking as well. The rooms are really generous in size and my bathroom was exceptionally inviting. (much tile….clean…hot water!) (hot water is a big deal in Haiti….not everyone has it) I had a constant supply of wifi all over the place. (they even have a cyber café if you happened to forget your computer) There is a small convenience store where you can always get a cold drink. (I recommend the “Tampico” tropical drink) Ernest offers coffee and toast in the morning and can provide an authentic Haitian meal in the evenings. (you need to let him know what your particular needs might be – he tends to be very accommodating) I had dinner several times with friends and it was delicious. They had a meal with beef and vegetables that was out of this world. It is authentic Haitian food (including plantains) and what a treat it was. His pricing was very reasonable. I have gone to many B&B’s and hotels in Haiti…..and Diquini is very reasonably priced for the quality of the rooms, meals, and services available. Beyond all of this, Ernest takes the initiative to make you feel at home. They don’t have a pool so it probably isn’t for anyone intending to swim where they are staying. Outside of that, I would recommend this to anyone seeking a clean, friendly, and safe environment. It is a good value.

Warm Hospitality Awaits You at the Diquini Guest House
I went at Diquini guest house in the first week of july 2014. I love it because it is a nice place with much intimacy. Mr Ernest Massillon is a educated gentleman and speek a perfect english. He is always attentive to your needs and can be reached 24h on 24. For someone who never went to Haiti, don’t forget that there, there is always some contingency with hot water or power, but the hotel have a power generator and Internet access is good. Because the cost is very reasonable, and we felt very secure, I will stay at the Diquini guest house every time I have to visit Port-au-Prince.
I decided to stay here because I was spending three weeks volunteering at a hospital located in Carrefour. I realized later on that although the hospital was in Carrefour it was not very close to the downtown area and Diquini. I underestimated the level of traffic and congestion I would experience in Haiti travelling just within Carrefour.
The guest house was very clean and staff was extremely helpful throughout my entire stay. Aunes and Davidson were super helpful in helping me get accommodated and travel within Haiti. There was a shopping center very close by where pretty much anything could be purchased if you have money. If you wanted to save money on food there were street vendors along the roads in downtown Carrefour. Oh and before I forget the free Wi-fi was extremely helpful.
Water and Laundry, and even car rentals can all be purchased at the guest house for a very reasonable price. Aunes will pretty much drive you anywhere in Haiti. The room was much more space then I needed but I must say the hot water and wifi were greatly appreciated.
The surrounding neighborhood was loud on Sunday. Other than the traffic and noise of Carrefour the guest house was great.
I went to Haiti not knowing a thing about it. Booked into the Diquini Guesthouse sight unseen. SO GLAD I DID! Got a nice room in a clean hotel, sure, that’s taken for granted — but got so much more. For reasonable extra fees, I also got meals and an experienced driver. Then we went all over town!
Nice hotel, safe and friendly neighborhood, great rates — especially on Expedia. Ernest Massillon, the manager, speaks perfect English and can be reached at info@diquinigh.com. He’ll tell you everything you need to know to have a perfect vacation.
